A small car makes total sense for India. They are practical for the jam-packed roads that we encounter, repairs are affordable in case of the unfortunate scruff and they are quite reliable in the long run. Needless to say, these factors make hatchbacks account for maximum volume of car sales in India. For a very long time now, Maruti’s offering, the Alto has been the undisputed king of the segment. Cars such as the Hyundai Eon, Tata Nano and Datsun Go have tried hard to displace the Alto. All they’ve been able to do is scratch the surface.
The Renault Kwid is now on sale and is being offered in Standard, RxE, RxE (O), RxL, RxT and RxT (O) variants. The car competes with the Tata Nano, Datsun Go, Hyundai Eon and the Suzuki Alto 800.
The Renault Kwid has been launched with only Steel Rims and feul efficient tyres of size 155/80R13.
